Telefónica announced an observability service on September 24 for large enterprises, mid-sized companies and public administrations. Its proposal brings together corporate network information so technology teams can relate communications incidents to the way their business operates and the processes that depend on connectivity. [8]

Observability allows teams to investigate what is happening inside a system through the signals it produces. These include metrics, event logs and operation traces. It requires instrumentation: collecting enough information to explain a problem, beyond simply detecting that something has gone wrong in the system. [5]

According to Zonamovilidad’s coverage, the tool brings together indicators for local networks, connections between sites and Wi-Fi, alongside events and alarms. The operator identifies banks, retailers, logistics businesses and contact centers as particularly relevant customers because their activities depend on stable communications. [2]

Europa Press describes two packages. Essential includes adaptation to the customer’s operations, alarms and AI-based problem detection. Premium is planned for December, adding customizable reports and dashboards and planning tools. These future capabilities should not be confused with functions that are already available to customers. [3]

Premium will also include OpenTelemetry and software connections to retrieve data and integrate incidents with IT service management tools. APIs are interfaces that let programs exchange information; the announced ITSM integration is intended to generate alarms and support tickets automatically when potential problems arise. [7]

OpenTelemetry provides an open framework for generating, collecting and exporting telemetry independently of a particular vendor. Its documentation makes clear that it is not itself a storage or visualization platform. Adding it therefore does not mean replacing all of a customer’s existing monitoring tools. [4]

The background is Titan Connect, introduced by Telefónica in January 2026. That portfolio combined fiber, 5G and satellite connectivity with observability and operational continuity capabilities. The new announcement develops this management component; it does not mark observability’s first appearance in the operator’s service portfolio. [6]

Telefónica promises to anticipate failures and shorten resolution times. The release provides no prices, country-by-country purchasing availability or comparative measurements of those improvements. The specific commercial scope and performance of each deployment still require verifiable information. [1]
