Telekom announces AI call summaries in business mobile plans for October

Voice AI Notes Mobile is included in new plans scheduled for October 5. Activation requires the other participant’s prior consent.

Deutsche Telekom announced on September 8 that it will add AI call summaries to new business mobile plans scheduled to launch on October 5, 2026. Voice AI Notes Mobile aims to reduce the manual documentation of work conversations. The announcement describes a future offer: it does not establish that these plans are already available during September. [1]

Users will be able to activate the function during a call with the other participant’s prior consent. After the conversation, they will receive the main points, tasks and next steps; calendar entries can also be generated. The operator targets sales, consulting, technical service and field staff who make business calls while they are on the move. [1] [3]

Processing involves recording the call, converting its audio into text and analysing it with the Mistral Small 4 model. Telekom identifies AudioCodes’ VoiceAI Connect as the technology connecting the mobile network to these AI services. Integration into the telephone service removes the need to install an additional application, but it does not remove the consent requirement. [2]

According to Telekom, the solution runs in T Cloud, processes data in European data centres and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation. The company says it deletes the recording, transcript and summary after delivery and does not use that data to train models. These are conditions stated by the provider, not conclusions from an independent audit conducted by TelcoBrief. [2]

Telecom Handel reports that Voice AI Notes Mobile will be included in the three main Business Mobil plans and the Business Mobil Pro variants. Business Card Data is excluded because it provides data connectivity without voice telephony. The changes combine call documentation, network protection and new data and roaming terms: AI is part of a business package, rather than a separate free application. [1] [3]

The next announced stage, Voice AI Actions, is planned for 2027 and aims to connect conversations with automated workflows. It must be distinguished from the summaries scheduled for October. The sources examined publish neither an accuracy rate for those summaries nor measured time savings. The promised operational usefulness therefore does not yet quantify a benefit for each individual business customer. [2] [3]
