AT&T reported on October 21 that revenue in its Latin America segment, comprising its Mexico wireless business, rose 13.2% year on year in the third quarter of 2026. The company mainly attributed the increase to favorable foreign exchange and postpaid subscriber growth. El Financiero also reported the results from a separate newsroom, although the figures originated with AT&T. [1][2]

Segment operating income was $45 million, up $23 million from a year earlier. EBITDA, a measure of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, reached $236 million, up $37 million. AT&T also said operating expenses rose 11.4%, citing unfavorable exchange effects on costs, higher bad-debt expenses and equipment costs. These figures cover the quarter ended September 30; they do not measure performance after the sale. [1]

AT&T signed an agreement on October 13 to sell its Mexico wireless business to Grupo Televisa and Fintech Holdings. The transaction has not closed. In preparing third-quarter accounts, AT&T classified the business as held for sale and recorded a $2.6 billion noncash impairment under Corporate and Other, without affecting the Latin America segment's quarterly results.
