Fiber reaches 83.25% of Peru’s fixed internet as Win nears Movistar
OSIPTEL released June figures on October 15: 3.41 million fiber connections out of 4.10 million fixed accesses. In the overall fixed-internet market, Movistar holds 24.31% and Win 24.22%.
Fiber optic connections accounted for 83.25% of Peru’s fixed internet accesses at the end of June 2026, according to figures released by OSIPTEL on October 15. The regulator counted 3.41 million connections using the technology in a market of 4.10 million fixed accesses. Compared with June 2025, fiber connections rose 2.59%, from 3.32 million to 3.41 million. TeleSemana published the same figures, attributed to OSIPTEL. [1][2]
In operator shares of the overall fixed internet market, Movistar retained first place with 24.31%, while Win moved into second with 24.22%. The gap is 0.09 percentage points. Claro ranked third at 21.74%. OSIPTEL said Win gained 3.61 share points and Claro 6.88 from the second quarter of 2025, while Movistar lost 3.12 points. [1]
The two measures should not be conflated: 83.25% describes the technology used across all fixed connections, whereas the quoted company shares divide the entire fixed internet market among operators. The release does not break down how many fiber connections each company has. The photograph shows a technician working on a fiber network in Ukraine in 2023; it is a conceptual archive image, not a Peruvian installation. [1]
