Pilot Fiber agrees to buy Boldyn's New York and New Jersey metro network

The acquisition remains subject to approvals and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2027. The announced $330 million-plus is financing, not the network's price.

Pilot Fiber agreed to buy Boldyn Networks' metro fiber assets in New York and New Jersey, both companies announced on October 22. The transaction has not closed: they expect completion in the second quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. They did not disclose a price for the network. [1][2]

Fengate led more than $330 million in new financing for Pilot to support the acquisition and subsequent growth. That figure is not the price paid to Boldyn. Pilot says that, after closing, its owned network would exceed 1,600 route miles and reach more than 1,200 buildings and 50 data centers. Those are projected dimensions of the combined network, not an expansion already completed. [1][2]

Boldyn says it will retain a long-term partnership and use Pilot's enlarged network to support its regional wireless infrastructure. Telecom Ramblings reported the deal from a separate newsroom, but its figures come from the parties' statements. The archive photograph shows a Pilot crew installing fiber in Manhattan in February 2026; it does not show Boldyn's assets being sold. [1][2][3]
