Transaction Network Services (TNS) acquired netnumber, a provider of telephone-number intelligence, portability and routing data. The buyer announced the deal on October 15, and former owner Abry Partners confirmed on the same day that it had completed the sale. Neither party disclosed a price. [1][2]

TNS says it will combine its call analytics and fraud prevention tools with netnumber's data for carriers, cloud communications providers and enterprises. Abry says netnumber serves customers in the United States and more than 50 other countries. Telecom Ramblings places the deal in the voice infrastructure market, but its coverage does not independently verify the benefits promised by the buyer. [1][2][3]

The purchase has closed; better routing accuracy, identification and fraud control remain commercial aims, rather than measured results after integration. The archive photograph shows telephone exchange equipment in 2013, unrelated to TNS or netnumber. [1][2]
